Get a mini-van. Highers slide - easily in and out. get leather seats and adjustable pedals. But if there is an accident - you do not want the street from me. call a cab - or a transportation service for seniors.
Dodge Caravan is a solid choice that are low enough to enter the country easily and leave the door open and the seat is a little bigger than a car.
Subaru Forester is not a bad choice, either on the ground, but a certain height and shape of a box, for easy access.
all "disabled" people I know drive Towncar or Lincoln Continental because the seat is so big. Search and ask them.
